🚶♀️ Hiking & Cycling
Schoonloo is surrounded by vast forests and heathlands and lies exactly between three large forest reserves: Boswachterij Schoonloo, Boswachterij Grolloo-Hooghalen (together with Schoonloo and Hooghalen also called the Heart of Drenthe ) and Boswachterij Gieten-Borger on the Hondsrug. Here you will find numerous marked walking and cycling routes through a varied landscape of forests, fens and esdorpen.
The beautiful nature around Schoonloo is ideal for hiking and biking enthusiasts. Some recommendations:
- Cycle junction system – Get on your bike and determine your own route via the junctions.
- The Pieterpad – the Netherlands’ most famous long-distance walk runs right past our park.
- Forestry Schoonloo – A vast nature reserve with well-marked trails.

At Jumbo you can easily order groceries online and have them delivered. In most cases, the delivery driver delivers directly to the holiday home, but it may also be possible to drop off the order at the reception (in the post room).
